Every picture tells a story - every story is unique
creating unique titles to treasure
Red Engine Publishing was established in 2015 through the passion of one of our directors and his desire to pay tribute to one of his musical heroes – David Bowie.
Working in collaboration with Iconic Images, we published 'Bowie by O’Neill’ a luxurious, limited edition presenting Terry O’Neill’s archive of David Bowie in a unique and exciting way.
We are currently working on a number of new projects, the latest one we’d like to share with you is a book on the work of the artist George Underwood whose mythical figurative paintings are 'heroic and vulnerable simultaneously'. This project is an exciting addition to our fine art photographic portfolio.
More information about each of these books can be viewed on 'Our Books' page.

So It Goes: PUNK AND THE AFTERMATH
Kevin Cummins
His iconic portraits of musicians include Joy Division, Liza Minnelli, Nick Cave, Patti Smith, Philip Glass, Oasis, and David Bowie. These images have appeared on magazine covers, in art galleries, featured in international films, and are included in the collections of The National Portrait Gallery and The V&A amongst others.
Cummins captured key moments in the Manchester music scene and these images helped to define the cultural history of the city. They not only portrayed people and places but created a new way of looking at Manchester and remain embedded in the cultural memory of the north. Bedroom walls all over the world have been, and are, decorated with his work.
Cummins has published seven critically acclaimed monographs to date - 'So it Goes: punk and the aftermath' will be his eighth.
He has lived in London since 1987 but retains strong links with his home city.
'One of Britain’s greatest photographers' - The Independent
'Cummins has raised the status of his work to the level of art' - John Peel

Bowie By O'Neill
A Fine Art Book
An extraordinary publishing event, BOWIE BY O’NEILL presents legendary photographer Terry O’Neill’s iconic imagery of David Bowie in an exciting new light.
Including never-before and rarely seen photos from a nearly thirty year partnership, this book includes images from the last Ziggy Stardust performance, the studio recording session for Young Americans, stage performances from Station to Station, set photography from The Man Who Fell to Earth and the now iconic photo session for Diamond Dogs.
Included in this book for the first time are images from the lost David Bowie and William Burroughs sessions, a packet of negatives recently recovered during the production of this book.
